We spend the camp teaching kids the fundamentals of the Python programming language and we introduce them to Google Teachable Machine which teaches them how to train and build their own A.I. models, it’s really incredible! Python is one of the hottest computer programming languages in the world and it's used in everyday applications. We love Python because it’s also one of the easiest languages for kids to learn because of its simplicity. In the Minecraft 3D Print Camp we’ll teach the kids to build some complex projects together in Minecraft and then we’ll save them in a format that can be printed in a smaller form using a 3D printer. In this camp we’ll be using the MakeBlock mBot Mega Advanced Robot. This is one of the most advanced robots we teach and it’s best suited for kids who have taken one of our other robotics camps. This camp will combine assembling the robot from scratch and will introduce kids to some electronics and mechanical sensors along the way. Once we’ve assembled the bots we’ll code them in Scratch and Arduino C to battle each other in fun competitive games! LEGOs are a great way to teach kids logic and the fundamentals of mechanical engineering in addition to coding, and they’re also GREAT for kids who love to express themselves creatively. In this fun and beginner-friendly camp, students will use Scratch to design their very own turn-based Pokémon battles, complete with custom sprites, health bars, and evolving characters. Throughout the week, kids will bring their favorite Pokémon to life through drag-and-drop block coding. They'll animate movement, build attacks with sound and logic, and create pixel-style worlds where players explore, battle, and collect. We spend the camp teaching kids the fundamentals of the Python programming language and we introduce them to Google Teachable Machine which teaches them how to train and build their own A.I. models, it’s really incredible! Python is one of the hottest computer programming languages in the world and it's used in everyday applications. We love Python because it’s also one of the easiest languages for kids to learn because of its simplicity. Artificial Intelligence or A.I. is everywhere these days and it’s producing some of the most insane technology we’ve seen in a generation, and we wait to introduce it to this generation of young coders! This game teaches kids coding concepts in a visual way that is effective but fun throughout, hey what else did you expect from Nintendo!? As an added perk, WE WILL SUPPLY ALL OF THE NINTENDO SWITCHES for the camp! Yup we got you! Kids just need to show up ready to code on the Switch. | 7/27-7/31 | In-Person | LEGO Masters In our LEGO Masters Camp we use popular LEGO coding kits such as the Mindstorms and Spike Essentials to teach kids to build some awesome creations and to program them with Scratch to perform cool tricks and even some Artificial Intelligence or A.I.! LEGOs are a great way to teach kids logic and the fundamentals of mechanical engineering in addition to coding, and they’re also GREAT for kids who love to express themselves creatively. Welcome to our site! My name is Kim and I am Co-Owner of theCoderSchool in Johns Creek and East Cobb. I truly believe that for a child to develop into a successful adult they must be challenged to think critically and problem solve; skills that will help them master ANY topic. I was drawn to theCoderSchool philosophy because it emphasizes the development of these skills while teaching kids to code in an environment where they are encouraged to learn and create.
With a PhD in Community Psychology, my research has primarily focused on youth development. I have spent over 15 years providing organizational and database development consulting services to non-profit organizations across the nation. I look forward to using my experience to help create the next generation of leaders.

Hello! My name is Jerry and I am Co-Owner of theCoderSchool in Johns Creek and East Cobb. Growing up I loved to play video games, but my mother would always tell me that I should learn how to create video games - not just play them. I took her advice and studied Computer Engineering in college which taught me circuit design and coding and led me to a career spent leading teams that have built applications on mobile PC’s, websites, desktop computers and smartphones. I credit my career success to my mother's early advice, to always learn what’s happening behind the scenes. My wife Kim and I are excited to bring this approach to learning technology to kids in the Johns Creek area with theCoderSchool and believe it will unlock a world of opportunity for them to thrive in our technology-driven society. In this action-packed 5-week workshop kids will design their own hero characters using AI art tools, code them in Scratch, create VR sculptures with our Oculus Quest 2 headsets that we'll 3D print, AND build and program their own mBot robots with AI capabilities! We'll teach them how to create, film, and edit their own YouTube videos using real studio lighting, professional microphones, and video cameras just like the pros use. Then we'll show them how to draw and animate their own characters like their favorite YouTube animation channels! Think you're a Pokémon Master? Now code like one! In this epic 5-week workshop, kids will use Scratch to build their very own fully playable Pokémon battle game from the ground up.
