We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a visualization of our students' learning options as they grow and a sampling of some of the topics we teach. Like real trees, our students' coding journeys are unique from each other, but all require strong foundations and trunks to support their higher, advanced branches. Need a magnifying glass? Here's a zoomable view.
Custom coding means tracking progress is even more important! Our suite of proprietary tools* does just that. Our Coder Progress and Notes+ systems chart weekly progress through concept tracking and freeform notes. App Reviews track longer term progress by identifying current skills to build their individual Coder Tree®. Finally, our Student Portal is a one-stop shop to see it all and then some! Confused? It's complicated! Get an idea by clicking through a Sample Student's functional Student Portal to see for yourself.
* Used by participating locations, check your location for availabilityEach year, theCoderSchool partners with the Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide coding contest run by districts of the U.S. Congress. Take a look at our recent winners, or ask about our App Gallery to see more apps!
Let's get ready for summer camps! Our camps run from 9:00am-3:00pm Mon-Fri. All of our camp offerings are currently for in person only.
Our camps are held at our coding facilities and leverage goodies from our year-round programs to create a uniquely collaborative environment where the kids work together, code together, and have a rockin’ fun summer together! Every Friday, we do a fun pizza party and demo day so that the kids can show off their projects. Due to COVID-19, all in-person camps will follow the Connecticut camp guidelines. All campers and coaches will wear masks and maintain 6 feet of physical distance during camp, with daily temp checks and consistent hand washing/sanitizing.

Hello and welcome to theCoderSchool Farmington! Chirayu and I met during our undergrad at the University of Connecticut and since then we have accomplished much together, but nothing compares to this. After having kids, we realized the importance of building a strong core foundation for children and starting them early on. We fell in love with the idea of teaching children how to code because of its many benefits. Coding is unique because not only does it teach students to think by applying problem solving, but it drives innovation. Students learn to think logically by applying commands to create anything they can imagine. No matter what field a you decide to work in, coding and computers are all around us!
I started my career twelve years ago, working in healthcare and teaching college students. In all instances of my job function I was always impressed with how much technology has impacted the healthcare and education field. Now we have the opportunity to impact the next generation by not only living with technology, but ideally creating technology as well.
Chirayu has always been fascinated with technology and is always looking for the latest gadget to play with. Working at ESPN as a project manager, he is constantly surrounded by software developers and sees the impact coders have in real life scenarios.
We are excited to bring theCoderSchool to Connecticut and help children learn to code and change the world! You can reach us anytime, vaishali@thecoderschool.com and chirayu@thecoderschool.com
We're always looking for great Code Coaches. Find out more about how to apply today.
