Coding Classes for Kids available In-Person and Online
At theCoderSchool Fremont, we want to do more than just teach coding. We have created a fun and collaborative space where our students and Code Coaches® can work together on their own projects and take their coding skills to the next level.
In addition to teaching them languages such as Scratch, Python or Java, we want to make sure that our students feel empowered and learn other real-life skills such as teamwork, collaboration and presentation skills.
The best way to learn about our programs is to register for a FREE On-line, or In-Person, Sample Lesson. It will allow you to meet our staff, get your questions answered, and see if your student enjoys our teaching methods. You can use the blue form to the right to register for the sample lesson, without any cost or obligation.
We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a visualization of what kids are learning and a sampling of possibilities. We even have a suite of proprietary tools (see a sample Student Portal ) that chart our students' progress, concepts learned, and even activities beyond app-building.
Every coding student has a unique journey, something we call a Coder Story. Our Coder Story structure helps guide kids along a roadmap of coding possibilities as they explore coding-related activities beyond building custom apps. For those striving to go to college as a Computer Science Major, an advanced Coder Story can help differentiate their application to college admissions boards.
Each year, theCoderSchool partners with the Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide coding contest run by districts of the U.S. Congress. Take a look at some recent winners, or ask about our App Gallery to see more apps!

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Luis and I'm the General Manager and Owner at theCoderSchool in Fremont, CA. As a child I was always intrigued by technology and computers in particular which led me into getting a BSc in Microelectronic Engineering - designing and building the electronic circuits inside computers, as well as an MSc in Software Development from RIT in Rochester, NY. Thanks to my background, I've had a very successful and rewarding career and I got to work with some of the largest software companies out there like Oracle, LinkedIn and Microsoft as well as hundreds of other companies in many different fields.
My biggest passion is learning, and what better way to learn than to teach children. I'm extremely excited to be able to share my experience with our students and empowering them to take control of their destiny and, of course, change the world =) Want to know more? Feel free to reach out to me directly at luis@thecoderschool.com.
We're always looking for great Code Coaches. Shoot us an email with resumé to see if we're a fit!
As you and your family consider coding programs, it helps to keep in mind:
Whether the student wants to explore Minecraft modding in Minecraft camp, is interested in HTML, or wants to learn block-based coding like CSS, our interactive classes provide a great coding experience.
What is theCoderSchool? We are an after-school drop-off (and virtual) program for kids
learning to code - a coding school! There's after-school kung fu. There's after-school music
lessons, sports, art, tutoring, Chinese, you name it, it's out there. But coding classes for kids? We're among the first of many, and the largest in Silicon Valley with more locations on the
way around the country. The future will be ever more dependent on technology so let's get
our young generation ready. Learn to Code, Change the World®. Check out our Carrollwood, Westerville, and Folsom location or all locations.
