Welcome, Families! We are Calvin and Rebecca, the owners of theCoderSchool Glenview.
Rebecca’s journey into coding is rooted in over fifteen years as an educator. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from DePaul University—a combination that reflects her belief that creativity and structure go hand in hand. Rebecca believes coding, like art, takes courage, inviting students to take risks, persevere, and trust their ideas. Helping learners build confidence and problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom is what inspires her most.
Calvin received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BS) from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix. His early career began at a local computer store, where hands-on problem solving sparked a lifelong appreciation for technology. He believes that helping children discover their potential through technology starts with making coding fun, supportive, and encouraging.
Calvin and Rebecca are proud parents of four children, all of whom are naturally drawn to technology. These interests have inspired them to find meaningful ways to nurture curiosity and learning at home and beyond. As a family, they believe in learning together, working together, and investing in one another—values that align perfectly with theCoderSchool’s mission. Calvin and Rebecca bring those same values to other families in their community by creating a place where children can grow in confidence, creativity, and problem-solving through coding.
At theCoderSchool Glenview, we believe that learning to code is only the beginning. Through hands-on projects, collaboration, and real-world problem solving, students develop the confidence, resilience, and creative mindset needed to make a meaningful impact. When students learn to code, they learn how to think—and those experiences lay the foundation for innovation, leadership, and change. That is why our mission, “Learn to code. Change the world.” is not just a slogan, but a promise to every student who walks through our doors.
We're always looking for great Code Coaches. Shoot us an email with resumé to see if we're a fit!
