Melissa is a graduate from California University of PA with a degree in Computer Information Systems. She first fell in love with coding in an elective course in her Freshman year and immediately switched her major to continue to work on it. She loves to code and is always excited about how that code brings her digital ideas to fruition. She loves Java Script, HTML, Scratch and Python. She loves to explore new languages. As per Melissa, all parts of any technology are truly fascinating and important!
Alec is a recent University of Pittsburgh computer science graduate. He has interest in computer programming with strong emphasis on mathematical and scientific applications, such as graphical simulation and AI/ML applications. He is currently working on a machine learning model that will help fine tune old guitars by sifting through large musical data sets. Python is his go to retreat, and he enjoys playing guitars in his free time.
Daniel is passionate about coding because it’s a truly ever-expanding universe of limitless possibilities. It enables anyone anywhere to do everything. From flying through space in real life and in the digital realm of VR, to exploring distant and inhabited worlds, coding can help realize limitless imaginations. Daniel is passionate about front end. He loves to watch a user interface take shape and views it as a form of art that is separate from the invisible and thoughtful code that powers it. Every "tick" is few lines of code throttling through the chips making your imaginations come to life. Daniel feels that code is a natural progression to his coding passion and would love to share this wondrous capability with others.
Jason has been teaching tech at South Park Senior High School. As a RMU graduate, he loves to develop apps and has proficiency in all scripting languages. He loves to teach and over the last 5 years he has helped many young kids explore logical thinking via code. In his spare time, he experiments with new concepts in Unity and its low code environment that can help build complex multi-dimensional games.
Nina is a graduate of a Full Stack development bootcamp with a longstanding passion for coding, which began during childhood while customizing MySpace profiles. They are inspired by the versatility of coding, from creating websites to developing video games, and view it as the foundation for modern innovation. With enthusiasm and ambition, Nina is driven to explore and build a wide range of digital projects.
Owen is pursuing his degree in Computer Science at Duquesne University. He loves to code and has proficiency in developing games on Unity. Per Owen, there is only one obstacle while coding, and that is developers’ imagination. He loves to help students realize their imaginative quotient. Per him, the best part of teaching is helping each student learn what they are capable of.
Quinn has been working with code and computers from a young age, and is passionate about helping others learn and create! Initially starting with C++ and Java, Quinn has always loved programming, as it helps build strong critical thinking skills and troubleshooting. The logic that you learn programming computers helps you to further understand and think your way through other problems as they come along!
Ross graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harrisburg University with a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Media with a concentration in Game Development. He is experienced developing in game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine, as well as programming in C++, C#, and Java. He is working on an advanced level game that challenges both agility and brain. Next time you are with him, talk to him about that!
Soma was drawn to computer science because of her love of video games and interactive fiction. She likes coding because of its precise ruleset and limitless potential. Her primary languages are C#, Python, and Java, and she's proficient in Unity. She spends her free time working on a turn-based RPG about witches, reading sci-fi/fantasy novels, and playing with her cat.
Josh is a University of Pittsburgh graduate. He has been through many tech startups developing cutting-edge automated mobile robotics solutions or java-based trackers to detect potholes real time. From enterprise infrastructure development to basic system programming, he loves it all. Per Josh "I am probably dockerizing something right now. I sit at a computer 12 hours a day writing code". Time not writing code is time watching ice hockey! Both Josh and his son are avid Pens fans!
Harry is currently a software engineering student at RMU with a specialization in python and a strong understanding of Java, C++ and SQL. Harry has always had an interest in coding and spends his time creating fun apps in python. He is developing a mind game in python to play with friends. The goal of the game is to find the player who is evil and vote them out. You have to try it to experience this mind gaming. During his free time, Harry likes to read, practice coding, and go bowling with friends and family.
