Hey super-parent! We're happy you're looking for STEM/Coding options for your child. It's a vital skill to know and will help your learner in more ways than you can imagine! We're super excited to bring Silicon Valley's #1 kids coding program to the area to help your kids get going, so read on and let's get our kids coding!
At theCoderSchool Montgomery, we want to do more than just teach coding. We want aspiring coders to use their new found passion as a springboard to thinking outside the box-- and then smashing it! Exposure to STEM/Coding create a foundation for advance critical thinking. Your child can build from that base to bring to life whatever their imagination dictates. Interested? Schedule your FREE coding trial now!
We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a visualization of what kids are learning and a sampling of possibilities. We even have a suite of proprietary tools (see a sample Student Portal ) that chart our students' progress, concepts learned, and even activities beyond app-building.
Every coding student has a unique journey, something we call a Coder Story. Our Coder Story structure helps guide kids along a roadmap of coding possibilities as they explore coding-related activities beyond building custom apps. For those striving to go to college as a Computer Science Major, an advanced Coder Story can help differentiate their application to college admissions boards.
Each year, theCoderSchool partners with the Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide coding contest run by districts of the U.S. Congress. Take a look at some recent winners, or ask about our App Gallery to see more apps!
Our in-person camps (Monday- Friday 9a-3p), are held at our sweet coding facilities and leverage goodies from our year-round programs to create a uniquely collaborative environment where the kids work together, code together, and have a rockin' fun summer together! Every Friday, we'll have a fun pizza party and a demo day. This gives the kids a chance to show off their projects while articulating their code. We work with students from novice to expert!

07/15-07/19 9:00a-3:00p | Full Day | Python Startup Who’s ready for some PYTHON! Take advantage of the easy-to-read style of coding while picking up on one of the most popular languages today for professional and beginner coders alike. We’ll start out by using an online python platform to learn some basics and practice some fundamental concepts, and time permitting and based on our camper skill set, we may jump on to some more complex Python coding, potentially getting into coding with PyGame. Python allows beginners to easily read and understand the code while providing an almost endless supply of libraries and supporting systems to develop things from websites to backend servers to data scripts and yes, even a particular version of Minecraft! Depending on the student skill level, we’ll likely start with online coding platforms like Trinket or Pixelpad.io, and may extend into pure Python coding and local machine development, time (and skill) permitting. 07/22-07/26 9:00a-3:00p | Full Day | Cubing & Coding Have you ever tried to solve a Rubik's Cube only to give up after hours of only managing to get one side to match!? Yes we’ve all been there, and to solve a Rubik's Cube it can be tricky unless you know the algorithm to do so, and we do! In the ‘Cubing & Coding Python A.I. Camp’ we’ll teach kids how to solve a real Rubik's Cube using an algorithm, or a list of steps and we’ll be teaching them how to code an application in Python to solve a virtual Rubik's Cube through Artificial Intelligence or A.I. We’re excited about this new coding camp and we know the kids will love it! Ages 8+ | Ages 8+ | (FUN333) |

Hello there fellow super parent! We're Michael and Dominique, co-owners of theCoderSchool Montgomery. As a local family, we are excited to bring this dedicated coding program to our students.
Michael has always had a passion for helping kids learn. As a young man he started a youth group, Positivity, that sought to harness the energy of his peers to have a meaningful impact on the community. As a graduate student Michael designed and taught several courses at The University of Iowa. As a law student, Michael continued to engage in childhood education and noticed an emerging paradigm shift in the way a newer generation processed information. The seed was planted. Michael became committed to become a part of something meaningful that could positively impact the lives of our kids. theCoderSchool Montgomery is the perfect vehicle to facilitate that pursuit.
Dominique has been dedicated to the enrichment of young people for the past 30 years. She has led the development and delivery of nationally recognized K-12 educational programs for some of the most trusted names in learning including Scholastic, ACT, and Lakeshore Learning. Dominique is very knowledgeable in the areas of literacy, after school programming, summer learning, 21st century skills and STEAM. Through her experience, she has helped parents and educators connect teaching practices with relevant research and resources. She brings a creative energy and deep commitment to helping children reach their full potential and looks forward to leading this new environment of innovation, creativity, and enrichment for all of the students and families of theCoderSchool Montgomery.
To watch how coding drives innovation is like watching the future unfold. There is an undeniable beauty in seeing students take an idea that they have, make that idea come to life, and then share that idea with millions of people. Montgomery, Princeton and Hillsborough are at the cutting edge of educational innovation and we are excited about bringing this offering to our kids—including our own two tech savvy young girls. We can be reached anytime at myoung@thecoderschool.com and dyoung@thecoderschool.com.
We're always looking for great Code Coaches. Shoot us an email with resumé to see if we're a fit!
As you and your family consider coding programs, it helps to keep in mind:
Whether the student wants to explore Minecraft modding in Minecraft camp, is interested in HTML, or wants to learn block-based coding like CSS, our interactive classes provide a great coding experience.
What is theCoderSchool? We are an after-school drop-off (and virtual) program for kids
learning to code - a coding school! There's after-school kung fu. There's after-school music
lessons, sports, art, tutoring, Chinese, you name it, it's out there. But coding classes for kids? We're among the first of many, and the largest in Silicon Valley with more locations on the
way around the country. The future will be ever more dependent on technology so let's get
our young generation ready. Learn to Code, Change the World®. Check out our Carrollwood, Westerville, and Folsom location or all locations.
