Coder School is a new kind of after school coding program that focuses on the individuality of each student, customizing our teachings depending on their skills and the desires. From graphical languages like Snap or Scratch to more powerful stuff like Python or Javascript and even the advanced coding like Java and C++, we're ready to inspire you and amaze you. Drop us a line or swing by to find out more!
Code Coaching® works for kids of all ages and skill levels, from novice to advanced. From game development to web apps, Python to Java, or even niche technologies like AI and beyond, our Coaches can help your kids achieve their goals.
Sessions run one or two hours a week (your choice), at the same time every week on a schedule that works for both you and our assigned Coach. Check out our video for more info!
Our coding school's flagship program, Code Coaching®, combines a super-small teaching ratio of typically 2:1 or 1:1 with individualized curriculum so kids are able to move at their own pace, doing things that interest them most. This program works for kids of all ages and skill levels. From game development to web apps, Python to Java, or even niche technologies like AI and beyond, our Code Coaches can help your kids achieve their programming goals. Sessions run one or two hours a week (your choice), at the same time every week on a schedule that works for both you and our assigned Coach. Our lessons are taught in-person at our schools where available, or can be online for social distancing. Fill out our form above to get a free trial today!
We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a visualization of our students' learning options as they grow and a sampling of some of the topics we teach. Like real trees, our students' coding journeys are unique from each other, but all require strong foundations and trunks to support their higher, advanced branches. Need a magnifying glass? Here's a zoomable view.
Custom coding means tracking progress is even more important! Our suite of proprietary tools* does just that. Our Coder Progress and Notes+ systems chart weekly progress through concept tracking and freeform notes. App Reviews track longer term progress by identifying current skills to build their individual Coder Tree®. Finally, our Student Portal is a one-stop shop to see it all and then some! Confused? It's complicated! Get an idea by clicking through a Sample Student's functional Student Portal to see for yourself.

Let's get ready for summer camps! Our camps run from 9:00am-3:00pm Mon-Fri.
Our camps are held at our sweet coding facilities (when possible) and leverage goodies from our year-round programs to create a uniquely collaborative environment where the kids work together, code together, and have a rockin’ fun summer together! Every Friday, we do a fun pizza party on us and demo day so that the kids can show off their projects. Due to COVID-19, all in-person camps will be limited to 6 campers with 1 coach. All campers and coaches will wear masks and maintain 6 feet of physical distance during camp. For the early bird discount use code: SAVE100 to get $100 OFF at checkout.

Hi everyone! My name is Felix and I'm the General Manager at theCoderSchool Palo Alto. I'm excited to be helping the next generation learn to code, and learn to think like a coder! While working as an engineer, I taught middle school to high school kids for over 17 years on the side and found the passion to teach and tutor. I began my interest in coding at 11 (pretty early, at that time!) and eventually went on to get a degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State. If I would have had a good mentor back when I was young, I would have been a CS major instead of an electrical engineer for sure! I can be reached at felix@thecoderschool.com.
Hello Coders! My name is Tyler Jaggers and I am the Assistant General Manager at theCoderSchool Palo Alto. I truly enjoy making games and using classic games from the 1980’s and 1990’s as a vehicle for teaching Computer Science concepts. As an independant game developer, I’ve come to appreciate how creative projects make learning fun! Also, with my degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University, the process of making projects and products accessible to everyone has been thoroughly enjoyable. As someone who has been coding since I was 9 years old, I definitely see the advantages of learning programming at any age, the more hours of coding…the better! I can be reached at tyler@theCoderSchool.com.
We're always looking for great Code Coaches. Find out more about how to apply today.
