Year-Round Weekly Coding Classes for Kids IN-PERSON & REMOTE offered by theCoderSchool Pleasanton.
As the #1 after-school coding program in Silicon Valley, we are happy to be teaching the new innovators of Tri-Valley! Whether they are brand new to coding or prepping for college-level courses, our students are having a blast learning how to build their very own games, websites, robots, and programs.
Unlike other programs, our coaches are trained to tailor the lessons to your kid’s interests. Our Code Coaching program is the core of what we do best: 2 students to 1-coach means we get to teach coding in ways that inspire and excite each student. This unique approach fosters a lifelong passion for technology and collaboration as our program equips your student with critical logic problem-solving skills. We also work with High School AP Comp Sci courses and Adult Learners.
Join in on the fun at our new location in Hopyard Village, next door to the Hopyard Grill! We are now offering IN-PERSON sessions (Wed/Fri/Sat) & will continue to offer REMOTE Live Code Coaching sessions going forwards (M-Sat)

Code Coaching® works for kids of all ages and skill levels, from novice to advanced. From game development to web apps, Python to Java, or even niche technologies like AI and beyond, our Coaches can help your kids achieve their goals.
Sessions run one or two hours a week (your choice), at the same time every week on a schedule that works for both you and our assigned Coach. Check out our video for more info!
We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a visualization of our students' learning options as they grow and a sampling of some of the topics we teach. Find more details about what kids are learning by checking out our Coder Tree®.
Our suite of proprietary tools* chart weekly progress by tracking concepts and apps, and longer term progress by identifying skills to build their individual Coder Tree®. Get an idea of our progress tools by clicking through a Sample Student's Student Portal to see for yourself.
* Used by participating locations, check your location for availabilityEach year, theCoderSchool partners with the Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide coding contest run by districts of the U.S. Congress. Take a look at some recent winners, or ask about our App Gallery to see more apps!

Hi! I’m Parry and I’m the General Manager of theCoderSchool Pleasanton. In my undergrad research to make STEM fields (particularly computer science) accessible to those with difficult backgrounds, we found out wanting to express oneself is what at the end of the day, makes students want to learn. Not only has coding swiftly become the backbone of every industry, but it is the universal language of communication, problem-solving, and yes, even artistic expression!
At the Coder School, we commit to giving students of all skill levels: 1. A virtual playground to work on their personal projects: There’s nothing that drives critical thinking and problem-solving skills than play through intuition. 2. A mentorship experience: Our coaches come from industry, higher education, and mixed backgrounds to inspire, support and encourage exploration into what coding can mean to each individual.
What if we unleash the next generations into the world as creators? I’d love to answer your questions. Send me an email at parry@thecoderschool.com!
Hi! I’m Dede Leonard and I’m the District Manager of Tri-Valley CS with schools in Pleasanton, Irvine, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, Mission Viejo and now South Bay! As a homeschooler and avid equestrian, I enjoyed advocating for passion driven opportunities for youth to realize their potential and explore their interests.
I watched the technological revolution unfold, expand and encompass all aspects of our daily life. Early exposure to computer languages and coding concepts empower and enrich lives. After graduating from UC Berkeley, I spent over 20 years working as a product manager for Oracle, HP and Motorola and as an internet freelancer helping small businesses expand and improve through the use of technology.
I opened theCoderSchool San Ramon in 2018 to bring coding to kids in the Tri-Valley area and beyond. Our communities recognize the power of code. Learning to create with code empowers our next generations to become problem solvers and grow critical thinking skills.
Whether it is finding your passion, competing in a horse show or learning technology skills to allow self-expression, I am excited to be a part of that journey for kids and their families. Happy, confident kids become adults who see a world that is open to all possibilities! Contact me anytime at dede@thecoderschool.com.
We're always looking for great Code Coaches. Shoot us an email with resumé to see if we're a fit!
As you and your family consider coding programs, it helps to keep in mind:
Whether the student wants to explore Minecraft modding in Minecraft camp, is interested in HTML, or wants to learn block-based coding like CSS, our interactive classes provide a great coding experience.
What is theCoderSchool? We are an after-school drop-off (and virtual) program for kids
learning to code - a coding school! There's after-school kung fu. There's after-school music
lessons, sports, art, tutoring, Chinese, you name it, it's out there. But coding classes for kids? We're among the first of many, and the largest in Silicon Valley with more locations on the
way around the country. The future will be ever more dependent on technology so let's get
our young generation ready. Learn to Code, Change the World®. Check out our Carrollwood, Westerville, and Folsom location or all locations.
