Hello Sarasota / Manatee parent! We’re so psyched you found your way here to theCoderSchool of Sarasota. Coding is such an awesome skill and it’s going to be so important in the future. That’s why we’re so happy to be bringing Silicon Valley’s most popular after school coding program here to the Suncoast. When we talk about coding, sure we mean programming computers to do cool and amazing things, but we also teach abstract thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Oh, and fun. We have a TON of fun.

Got some coding chops yourself? We're always looking for skillful coders to add to our Code Coaching team. Send your resume to Sarasota@thecoderschool.com and we'll be in touch!
Code Coaching® works for kids of all ages and skill levels, from novice to advanced. From game development to web apps, Python to Java, or even niche technologies like AI and beyond, our Coaches can help your kids achieve their goals.
Sessions run one or two hours a week (your choice), at the same time every week on a schedule that works for both you and our assigned Coach. Check out our video for more info!
We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a visualization of our students' learning options as they grow and a sampling of some of the topics we teach. Find more details about what kids are learning by checking out our Coder Tree®.
Our suite of proprietary tools* chart weekly progress by tracking concepts and apps, and longer term progress by identifying skills to build their individual Coder Tree®. Get an idea of our progress tools by clicking through a Sample Student's Student Portal to see for yourself.
* Used by participating locations, check your location for availabilityEach year, theCoderSchool partners with the Congressional App Challenge, a nationwide coding contest run by districts of the U.S. Congress. Take a look at some recent winners, or ask about our App Gallery to see more apps!

Hello! We’re Allyson and Pete Christinzio, and we’re co-owners/operators of theCoderSchool of Sarasota. We’d like to share a little about ourselves and why we decided to bring Silicon Valley’s best coding school to Sarasota.
Allyson has been using her time as a stay-at-home mom to bring her two boys on educational adventures, and volunteer for the PTOs of several of Sarasota County’s public schools. She has always been tech-interested and wants to spend her time encouraging young minds to think logically and be problem solvers. Allyson loves to see that “ah-ha!” moment on the faces of students as they break through their latest challenge and is thrilled to bring this program to her community.
Pete has been a software developer for twenty years, and during the last decade or so, has found that what he really wants to do is inspire the future. He enjoys attending conferences and working on personal coding projects to keep his skills sharp and relevant, and he has a talent for sharing his knowledge and his fire. Pete continues to work his day job in the corporate world and brings his dev team experience to the atmosphere here at theCoderSchool of Sarasota.
As parents, we know that each child learns differently, and has different motivations for what drives them. Which is why we’re so excited to have this versatile program to help your children learn valuable life skills – coding being only the most obvious. Also as parents, we’re happy to have a place where our own sons can learn to code since it’s so much easier to learn from someone who isn’t, “Dad.”
We're always looking for great Code Coaches. Shoot us an email with resumé to see if we're a fit!
As you and your family consider coding programs, it helps to keep in mind:
Whether the student wants to explore Minecraft modding in Minecraft camp, is interested in HTML, or wants to learn block-based coding like CSS, our interactive classes provide a great coding experience.
What is theCoderSchool? We are an after-school drop-off (and virtual) program for kids
learning to code - a coding school! There's after-school kung fu. There's after-school music
lessons, sports, art, tutoring, Chinese, you name it, it's out there. But coding for kids?
We're among the first of many, and the largest in Silicon Valley with more locations on the
way around the country. The future will be ever more dependent on technology so let's get
our young generation ready. Learn to Code, Change the World®.
