We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a visualization of what kids are learning and a sampling of possibilities. We even have a suite of proprietary tools (see a sample Student Portal ) that chart our students' progress, concepts learned, and even activities beyond app-building.
Every coding student has a unique journey, something we call a Coder Story. Our Coder Story structure helps guide kids along a roadmap of coding possibilities as they explore coding-related activities beyond building custom apps. For those striving to go to college as a Computer Science Major, an advanced Coder Story can help differentiate their application to college admissions boards.

My name is Noreen Kazi and I’m the owner of theCoderSchool of Scarsdale. I am an active parent that is excited about bringing this dedicated coding program to our students. I have experience as a community leader and organizer and I have spent over 20 years creating educational curriculum and leading programs focused on ensuring that our youth are ready to be tomorrow’s leaders.
Through my experience designing educational curriculum, I have had the privilege of seeing how technology has positively impacted curriculum development. What I love about coding is that it drives innovation – coding provides students with the ability to take an idea that they have, make that idea come to life, and then share that idea with millions of people. Additionally, coding can provide a cross curricular benefit by improving student’s math skills as they start to visualize and break down problems from other angles. MEET OUR SENIOR ADVISOR My name is Nisha Bhalla and I am the Senior Advisor of theCoderSchool Scarsdale. I still remember learning how to code in Linux and was fascinated with the collaboration and support of the programming community as we all looked to build a better program, together. Technology has continued to drive significant change and the ability to code is a skillset that every student should have.
I am so excited about bringing this program to New Jersey in a setting that is both educational and fun. As a graduate of Harvard Business School, I have seen firsthand the way technology has impacted the future of all industries from farming to healthcare and I can’t wait to bring this knowledge to our students. Additionally, I have over 10 years of experience working in product development roles at various Fortune 500 companies and start-ups and I am thrilled about sharing this career knowledge with our students.
I’m also passionate about mentoring students on their communication and presentation skills, and I love that this program will not only teach kids how to code, but also how to engage their audiences to effectively communicate their ideas and opinions.

What is theCoderSchool? We are an after-school drop-off (and virtual) program for kids
