Coding Camps

Q: How much do summer camps cost?

A: Summer camp prices vary by location so you’ll need to check the website for your specific area.

Q: What days and times do they run?

A: Our typical summer camps run from 9am-3pm for one full week Monday through Friday. However, some locations offer half-day camps and/or abbreviated shorter camps with fewer days.

Q: Are they held only during the summer?

A: Most of our camps are offered during the summer, but certain locations do offer camps throughout the year during Fall, Winter, Spring, and other breaks. So check with your location to see what camps they’re offering.

Q: What is the staff-to-student ratio?

A: The camp ratio is typically no larger than 1:6 for coaches to student and sometimes smaller.

Q: Is there aftercare available?

A: Extended care is offered on a location by location basis so you’ll need to check the website for your particular location to confirm.

Q: What should my child bring to camp?

A: Not much is required, but it’s always a good idea to have your child bring a water bottle and lunch.

Q: Do you have any camps just for girls?

A: Certain locations do run all-girl camps which are a lot of fun if you’re a girl. Check with your specific location as not all locations have this. All of our regular camps welcome girls, of course, and we try our best to have female Code Coaches® when possible.

Q: What happens during camps?  How much learning can be expected?

A: Our camp’s goal is to utilize our unique environments to facilitate the kids collaborating and coding together, while having fun at the same time. The cycle is to introduce them to the new language or technology, have them build  and create an application with it, and then demo it by the end of the week. Learning levels will vary based on the child, but like any other summer kids camp, the week is about fun and exposure.  Real mastery takes continuous learning over time!
