We are super excited about bringing Silicon Valley's #1 kids coding program to Western New York! Our core program will create creative problem solvers and technical entrepreneurs who will learn that they can change their world for the better.
Learn to Code, Change the World!
We are open: Monday - Friday - 3 pm to 8 pm Saturday - 9 am to 3 pm
Code Coaching® is our core philosophy, and what our school is all about!
We believe that every student is different, and that kids should learn
in the way that works best for each child. How? Our Code Coaches® -
they're the magic sauce! Unlike some coding schools, we don't
just leave the kids in front of a computer, expecting the software to
teach them how to code. Nor do we force all kids to go through the same
curriculum or projects, regardless of their skills and interests. Instead,
our Code Coaches® customize their lessons for each child, and focus on a 2
on 1 mentee-mentor relationship with our kids so our students can get the
focused attention they need.
Code Coaching® works for kids of all ages and skill levels, from novice
to advanced. From game development to web apps, Python to Java, or even
niche technologies like AI and beyond, our Coaches can help your kids achieve their goals.
Sessions run one or two hours a week (your choice), at the same time
every week on a schedule that works for both you and our assigned Coach.

Coding Lessons for Kids in Buffalo, NY
Coding takes practice, and we believe getting kids to code consistently
throughout the year is the only way they'll really learn to code. theCoderSchool
has a staff of over 700 Code Coaches all around the country, so we know a
thing or two about mentoring students in computer science.
That's why our after-school coding classes for kids revolve around this relationship,
providing a long-term mentor in a Code Coach to teach kids to code, from someone who's
an expert coder themselves.
Conveniently located near great schools like Transit Middle School and East High School, theCoderSchool Buffalo is located in East Amherst, about a half hour northeast of the city. In addition to coding, we also offer fun camps like Roblox and Minecraft Camps. Our expert coaches have backgrounds from top universities like Cornell or Northwestern, some who work at NASA or Lockheed Martin, and even coaches who are running their own start up companies. We're also proud to be working with inner city kids through the Upward Bound program, a US Dept. of Education initiative that helps kids prepare for college entrance.
Our coding school's flagship after-school program, Code Coaching®, combines a super-small
2:1 teaching ratio with individualized curriculum so kids are able to
move at their own pace, doing things that interest them most.
We Code Coaching is our premium program, we also offer a more traditional Code Class for those looking for either
software driven or static curriculum teaching in a larger ratio. And during
summer and holiday breaks, we offer Coding Camps.
When available, programs are offered in both in-person and virtual formats.

We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what
they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a
visualization of our students' learning options as they grow and a sampling
of some of the topics we teach. Find
more details about what kids are learning by checking

"My son looks forward to his weekly coding session. He loves the challenge of learning something new in a supportive atmosphere. His coding coaches encourage him to progress at his own rate but are there when he has a question. I highly recommend The Coding School for kids who have an interest in learning to code."
Pam P, East Amherst, NY
"The team at The Coder School has been very kind and professional. What a great place for kids to learn not just coding skills, but life skills. The hour spent each week just on presentation and interpersonal communication skills is worth it by itself - and will be skills my son can use throughout his life. I don't understand the coding as well as he does, but I know that (like many boys) he hopes to code for video games someday. The Coder School basically is teaching him the alphabet and language to do just that someday. Great idea and wonderful staff! Thank you for coming to Buffalo!"
Keith W, East Amherst, NY
"Our son has been taking classes at the Coder School and the teachers are wonderful! They are very knowledgeable and caring, always taking the time to let us know how our son is doing and what is being taught. They did a nice job determining my sons current skill level and matching him with a partner and instructor that will push him to the next level."
Michelle M, Buffalo, NY
"A wonderful asset to our community. My kids have already learned so very much in their short time there! Umesh and Sanchayita are incredible."
Jaclyn B, Buffalo, NY
"The Coder School is Amazing! My son looks forward to his session every week! The owners and coaches are Awesome! The atmosphere here makes learning very fun for the kids. My son even likes to go early just to hang out. I highly recommend this place."
Selina R, Akron, NY
"We could not be more happy with the opportunity that the Coder School Buffalo has given our son. He has always had in interest in video games and computers. The Coder School teaches him about programming and opens an opportunity for a career. This has been a wonderful experience "
Brian T, Hamburg, NY
"I had a great time seeing my wife's nephew give a presentation on the application he created using python."
James S, Lancaster, NY
"I was very excited when I got to know that there is a coder school for kids in Buffalo. Many thanks to these young and enthusiastic education pioneers who open the door of technology of tomorrow to our kids. The fact that they are the first kind to settle in Buffalo and set up the coder school was both brilliant and brave exploration. The staff are very thoughtful and keep the best benefit of the students in their mind. After registration, I realized the schedule conflicted with my son's summer school classes. By rules if I withdraw from coder school registration I was expected to pay large fines, but the coder school teachers and managers tried everyway to help me to convert the credit to best adapt to my son's schedule and avoided the fine at the same time. My son is having great time there, and I am so happy to see the early exposure is preparing him to be more ready for the future to come."
Liu L, Williamsville, NY

Meet Our Owners
Welcome to theCoderSchool Buffalo! Meet Sanchayita and Umesh, or "accidental entrepreneurs" as they like to call themselves. They have called Buffalo home for over a decade and experienced their young family blossom, thanks to the excellent school system and community programs of Williamsville.
In addition, they also wished to start their daughter’s education in the high demand and growing tech industry. After not finding an option that catered to that need and realizing more students could benefit from learning essential tech skills, Umesh and Sanchayita were inspired to bring theCoderSchool to the community. Coding is unique because not only does it teach students to think by applying problem solving, but it also drives innovation. Students learn to think logically by applying commands to create anything they can imagine. No matter what field you decide to work in, coding and computers are all around us!
Sanchayita is double Masters in Economics and Business Management. With 12+ years of Retail experience under her belt, she currently plays an integral role in mainstreaming immigrants attached with International Institute of Buffalo as a linguist and interpreter.
Umesh has worked as a global tech and business consultant for over 15 years and currently working with M&T Bank as a Product Manager in their Digital Banking team. They are very excited to bring theCoderSchool to Buffalo! You can reach them anytime at email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
