Our camps generally have a low-ratio of students per coach. Ask your location for specifics as it can vary. Camp instructors are Code Coaches® who have successfully gone through our onboarding process and are coders that know how to teach coding skills to kids. Each camp has recommendations around age and skill level, but all are open to discussion based on your child’s experience with coding.
Welcome to theCoderSchool, a place that teaches coding camps and a whole lot more during the school year. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, theCoderSchool believes every kid is unique, and we treat them that way. Our core program revolves around a mentor relationship with experienced coders, Code Coaches who can guide our students through their amazing - and custom - technical journey. | 9/22-9/26 | In-Person | HeroCraft A.I. Scratch + 3D Print Art + Robots & Roblox In our HeroCraft A.I. Scratch Camp kids Start with a hand-drawn sketch of their favorite movie or TV hero, campers will use cutting-edge artificial intelligence to refine their artwork. Next, they'll bring their characters to life in a coding project as interactive sprites. Also during this camp, the kids will get a chance to use our Oculus headset to create their own sculptures and artwork in virtual reality that they can then export and print on our 3D printer! Finally in Our Robots & Roblox camp we teach kids about robotics and coding using the awesome mBot coding robot. Kids will assemble their own robot kit and we'll code them using Scratch to create some entry level artificial intelligence and we'll have some robot competitions they'll love. Kids will use the power of Roblox Studio to design their very own Minecraft-style game, blending the best of both worlds with Roblox’s development tools and Minecraft’s iconic blocky fun. They’ll learn everything from Minecraft-style terrain and block systems to player mechanics and world generation, creating their own take on what makes Minecraft so addictive. When their game’s ready, they’ll put on Meta Quest VR headsets to explore their custom-built world in virtual reality—a totally unique experience you won’t find anywhere but The Coder School! | 9/22-9/26 | In-Person | Python & A.I. Bootcamp Our ‘Python & A.I. Bootcamp’ is designed for kids who are new to Python and Artificial Intelligence or A.I. We spend the camp teaching kids the fundamentals of the Python programming language and we introduce them to Google Teachable Machine which teaches them how to train and build their own A.I. models, it’s really incredible! Python is one of the hottest computer programming languages in the world and it's used in everyday applications. We love Python because it’s also one of the easiest languages for kids to learn because of its simplicity. Artificial Intelligence or A.I. is everywhere these days and it’s producing some of the most insane technology we’ve seen in a generation, and we wait to introduce it to this generation of young coders! | 9/22-9/26 | In-Person | The MrBeast - YouTube Studio Camp MrBeast (yes it’s spelled that way!) is the most popular YouTuber in the world! Known for his creative video content, stunts and humor. If you’ve never heard of MrBeast, just ask your kids who he is! In our MrBeast Camp we’ll be teaching the kids how to brainstorm ideas, plan, shoot and edit their own MrBeast-style video ready to publish on YouTube. The campers will work in small teams to cooperate on their videos together and they’ll edit them as a team. Though not a prerequisite, if your child has been to our YouTube Studio Camp in the past, you can think of this camp as the sequel to that one! | 9/22-9/26 | In-Person | Beginners Scratch & Roblox Gamers Club We'll be using a cool drag n' drop language called Scratch to create some awesome new and classic games! Aimed at our newbie and novice coders with little or no experience creating games in Scratch so we can go at their pace! During lunch breaks, kids will hang out and play some group roblox games together! Coding and roblox together, sounds like a great week of camp!
