Our camps are all low-ratio, with typically six campers to each instructor. Camp instructors are often our regular year-round Code Coaches® who have lots of experience teaching coding skills to kids throughout the year. Each camp has recommendations around age and skill level, but all are open to discussion based on your child’s experience with coding.
Welcome to theCoderSchool, a place that teaches coding camps and a whole lot more during the school year. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, theCoderSchool believes every kid is unique, and we treat them that way. Our core program revolves around a mentor relationship with experienced coders, Code Coaches who can guide our students through their amazing - and custom - technical journey. 5/20 - 5/24 | In-Person | Minecraft Coding Coding has never been so much fun! In the Minecraft Coding Camp, students can learn more about coding through Minecraft Education Edition! In Minecraft Education Edition, kids aren’t playing Minecraft (except during lunch breaks), they are solving meaningful logic problems using drag-and-drop (Scratch-like) code or Python code. The puzzles just take place in the Minecraft world. Take your student through the coding journey to learn about sequencing, operators, variables, conditionals, functions, loops and more! Join us to create and develop your own unique Minecraft experience! 8+ | 8+
5/28-5/31 | In-Person | Scratch Camp (4days) Does your child dream of making their own video games? Help them fulfill their dream with our 2D Game Development Coding Camp! Campers will learn more about core coding concepts and the game development process to create video games using the Scratch programming language. Students will learn from the coaches to create games that we have designed in advance for this camp, and they can add their own personal flair to the game. This is a fun way to introduce your child to computer science or sharpen their Scratch skills, while also bolstering their math and critical thinking skills! Please note this is a 4 day camp. 8+ | 8+

6/10-6/14 | In-Person | ROBOLOX Game Development (Roblox) Camp is aimed to teach students coding concepts while creating a game in the Roblox Studio game development engine. We have prepared some game ideas for this camp, and the kids will vote on which one they work on during the week! Students can work by themselves or with a team. This is not an introduction to programming, and some coding experience is required: students should have a basic familiarity with typed scripting languages (i.e. Python, Java, Javascript). If you are not sure if your student has enough coding experience, please call/email/text us, we are happy to discuss! Students will only be allowed to play Roblox and other video games during lunch break, otherwise it’s time to create with code! 8+ | 8+
