Summer Coding Camps

While we’re mostly an after-school custom-learning coding shop, we also offer Summer Camps! Our in-person coding camps can be a great way to keep your kids learning computer science through their time away from school. theCoderSchool’s camps target kids’ interests, from video game development to robotics to minecraft to roblox to javascript with html/css and even mobile game development.

How We Teach at Our Camps

Our camps generally have a low-ratio of students per coach. Ask your location for specifics as it can vary. Camp instructors are Code Coaches® who have successfully gone through our onboarding process and are coders that know how to teach coding skills to kids. Each camp has recommendations around age and skill level, but all are open to discussion based on your child’s experience with coding.

How Our Camps Are Run

Each day camp runs for a full week, usually starting mid-morning and finishing early afternoon, although some camps are offered as a half-day. While we’ll do lots of on-computer learning, we’ll also take plenty of breaks and take a walk outside or other indoor activities. At the end of the week, students give demos to show off their hard work from the week and their newfound critical thinking skills.

Our Summer Coding Camps give children ages 7–14 a fun and engaging way to explore coding. This 8-week program runs from June 2 through July 25, 2026, and is designed for beginners through advanced learners. Led by experienced instructors, campers take part in hands-on STEM activities that build creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Each week, students code, create, and build projects, then proudly demo their work at week’s end. All camps are held at Academy at the Lakes (AATL), 2331 Collier Pkwy, Land O' Lakes, FL 34639. Camps are offered Monday through Friday as flexible half-day programs, with morning sessions from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and afternoon sessions from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Families may register for both sessions for a full day of camp. Campers should bring a water bottle, and full-day campers should bring a packed lunch. Families can receive $75 off all 2026 Summer Camps with promo code SUMMER2026 at checkout through June 1, 2026.

PYTHON STARTUP (10+)

Move over, Siri! Use Python to build your own voice-activated AI assistant. You’ll use real code to make a bot that listens to commands, tells jokes, and launches your favorite apps. No massive supercomputers needed—just clever logic and standard coding libraries. By the end of the week, you won't just have a program; you'll have a loyal digital sidekick that talks back!

GAME DEVELOPMENT (7+)

Don't just play apps build the ones that make everyone laugh! Use easy drag-and-drop blocks to create a hilarious 'Meme Soundboard,' a wacky 'Voice Changer,' or an addictive 'Cookie Clicker' game. No boring typing required! You’ll design the buttons, record the sounds, and scan a QR code to run your app on a real phone. It’s the ultimate way to show off your tech skills!

Build it, code it, keep it! Dive into the world of robotics where you'll assemble and program your very own robot friend. Learn the engineering behind the machine and the code that makes it move. We design our coding camps to help kids understand STEM topics through interactive, hands-on experiences. Our engaging approach makes sometimes complex concepts palatable for younger students. Hands-on STEM learning is highly valuable for students, giving them skills they can use for years to come—even if they don’t become computer programmers. What is a coding camp?

Coding summer camps are week-long coding courses in a variety of topics, from robotics to artificial intelligence to video game design and development. We also teach an Intro to Python Programming camp, one of the fastest growing programming languages in the world!

We know how different kids are from one another, and our camps help reflect that diversity. You'll find camps that focus on javascript and HTML/CSS for web development, use Scratch for game design, game development, and animations, we even have camps that teach algorithms for basic artificial intelligence and data science. We also employ a project-based learning experience.
