Summer Coding Camps

While we’re mostly an after-school custom-learning coding shop, we also offer Summer Camps! Our in-person coding camps can be a great way to keep your kids learning computer science through their time away from school. theCoderSchool’s camps target kids’ interests, from video game development to robotics to minecraft to roblox to javascript with html/css and even mobile game development.

How We Teach at Our Camps

Our camps generally have a low-ratio of students per coach. Ask your location for specifics as it can vary. Camp instructors are Code Coaches® who have successfully gone through our onboarding process and are coders that know how to teach coding skills to kids. Each camp has recommendations around age and skill level, but all are open to discussion based on your child’s experience with coding.

How Our Camps Are Run

Each day camp runs for a full week, usually starting mid-morning and finishing early afternoon, although some camps are offered as a half-day. While we’ll do lots of on-computer learning, we’ll also take plenty of breaks and take a walk outside or other indoor activities. At the end of the week, students give demos to show off their hard work from the week and their newfound critical thinking skills.

Thanksgiving Break Day Camps! Spots fill quickly—grab your child’s place and these savings while they last! 🎒💻 For Ages 6 - 14 and all skill levels are welcome! Minecraft! (Ages 6+)

Kids will explore two of their favorite digital worlds while learning how games are actually made! 🎮 Roblox Game Design & Coding Using Roblox Studio, campers will design and build their own interactive games. They'll create characters, challenges, power-ups, obstacles, and exciting game experiences while learning beginner programming concepts like loops, variables, and conditionals. Kids will turn their ideas into playable Roblox creations they can be proud of! 🧱 Minecraft: Create, Code & Explore! Using Minecraft Education, campers will build custom worlds, solve coding challenges, and create their own Minecraft adventures. They'll discover how coding can bring their creations to life while developing problem-solving, creativity, and logical-thinking skills. 💻 A full day of building + coding + creativity! 3D PRINT LAB (Ages 6+)

Kids will turn their everyday ideas into amazing digital and real-world creations! 🎮 Game Design & Animation Campers will design their own interactive games and animations while exploring how creativity and coding can bring their ideas to life. They'll create characters, challenges, and interactive experiences while developing problem-solving and computational-thinking skills. 🖨️ 3D Design & Printing Then it's time to become an inventor! Kids will use 3D design tools to create their own silly, useful, and totally unique creations—from toys and gadgets to mini masterpieces. They'll see their digital designs transform into real objects through 3D printing!

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, theCoderSchool believes every kid is unique, and we treat them that way. What is a coding camp?

Coding summer camps are week-long coding courses in a variety of topics, from robotics to artificial intelligence to video game design and development. We also teach an Intro to Python Programming camp, one of the fastest growing programming languages in the world!

We know how different kids are from one another, and our camps help reflect that diversity. You'll find camps that focus on javascript and HTML/CSS for web development, use Scratch for game design, game development, and animations, we even have camps that teach algorithms for basic artificial intelligence and data science. We also employ a project-based learning experience.
