Our camps are all low-ratio, with typically six campers to each instructor. Camp instructors are often our regular year-round Code Coaches® who have lots of experience teaching coding skills to kids throughout the year. Each camp has recommendations around age and skill level, but all are open to discussion based on your child’s experience with coding.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, theCoderSchool believes every kid is unique, and we treat them that way. Our core program revolves around a mentor relationship with experienced coders, Code Coaches who can guide our students through their amazing - and custom - technical journey. We'll also teach them about audio as well as special effects. In our Animation Studio camp we’ll teach them how to draw out and animate their own creations like many of their favorite YouTube channels. | 6/30-7/3 | In-Person | LEGO Masters Camp In our LEGO Masters Camp we use popular LEGO coding kits such as the Mindstorms, Spike, Boost and Essentials to teach kids to build some awesome creations and to program them with Scratch & Python to perform cool tricks and even some Artificial Intelligence or A.I.! LEGOs are a great way to teach kids logic and the fundamentals of mechanical engineering in addition to coding, and they’re also GREAT for kids who love to express themselves creatively. Scratch Camp kids Start with a hand-drawn sketch of their favorite movie or TV hero, campers will use cutting-edge artificial intelligence to refine their artwork. Next, they'll bring their characters to life in a coding project as interactive sprites. Also during this camp, the kids will get a chance to use our Oculus headset to create their own sculptures and artwork in virtual reality that they can then export and print on our 3D printer! Finally in Our Robots & Roblox camp we teach kids about robotics and coding using the awesome mBot coding robot. Kids will assemble their own robot kit and we'll code them using Scratch to create some entry level artificial intelligence and we'll have some robot competitions they'll love. In this camp we’ll be using the MakeBlock mBot Mega Advanced Robot. This is one of the most advanced robots we teach and it’s best suited for kids who have taken one of our other robotics camps. This camp will combine assembling the robot from scratch and will introduce kids to some electronics and mechanical sensors along the way. Once we’ve assembled the bots we’ll code them in Scratch and Arduino C to battle each other in fun competitive games! | 7/14-7/18 | In-Person | Blender Across the Spider Verse 3D Camp Blender is a powerful 3D creation suite used to make beautiful 3D art and animations. Believe it or not a 15 year old kid created this Spiderman: Across the Spider Verse LEGO Trailer using Blender! For our aspiring coders and 3D designers, our ‘Blender Across the Spider Verse 3D Camp’ introduces them to using Python code in Blender. Python is used in Blender to automatically manipulate objects that can be animated similar to the Spiderman trailer. Kids will leave the camp with the ability to create and animate basic objects and we’ll even show them how they can 3D print their creations!
