Code Coaching® works for kids of all ages and skill levels, from novice to advanced. From game development to web apps, Python to Java, or even niche technologies like AI and beyond, our Coaches can help your kids achieve their goals.
Sessions run one or two hours a week (your choice), at the same time every week on a schedule that works for both you and our assigned Coach. Check out our video for more info!
We believe that every student learns in his or her own way, not only in what they want to work on, but how fast and how much. Our Coder Tree® is a visualization of our students' learning options as they grow and a sampling of some of the topics we teach. Find more details about what kids are learning by checking out our Coder Tree®.
Our suite of proprietary tools* chart weekly progress by tracking concepts and apps, and longer term progress by identifying skills to build their individual Coder Tree®. Get an idea of our progress tools by clicking through a Sample Student's Student Portal to see for yourself.

Hi, I am Mary Earvolino and I have joined the Coder School Commack as its General Manager. I have a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing from Hofstra University, and a master’s degree in Early Elementary Education from Adelphi University. I am thrilled to join a team that has the vision to see the importance of coding for students of all ages. Expanding a student’s critical thinking skill and problem-solving skills will assist them when they begin to enter institutions of higher learning, the workforce, and beyond.
I have had an amazing career as an early elementary teacher, and principal for over 25 years. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I want to share that passion for learning with the students that I meet at the Coder School. It is rewarding as an educator to see students challenge themselves by exploring the world of technology, and beyond. I am excited to meet new students and families as the Coder School in Commack grows to become a fun place for progressive thinkers. Feel free to contact me at mary@thecoderschool.com.
My name is Noreen Kazi and I’m the owner of theCoderSchool Commack. I am an active Long Island parent that is excited about bringing this dedicated coding program to our students. I have experience as a community leader and organizer and I have spent over 20 years creating educational curriculums and leading programs focused on ensuring that our youth are ready to be tomorrow’s leaders.
Through my experience designing educational curriculums, I have had the privilege of seeing how technology has positively impacted curriculum development. What I love about coding is that it drives innovation – coding provides students with the ability to take an idea that they have, make that idea come to life, and then share that idea with millions of people. Additionally, coding can provide a cross curricular benefit by improving student’s math skills as they start to visualize and break down problems from other angles. I truly believe that Long Island is at the cutting edge of educational innovation and I am excited about bringing this offering to our kids. You can reach me anytime at noreen@thecoderschool.com.
My name is Nisha Bhalla and I am the Senior Advisor of theCoderSchool Commack. I still remember learning how to code in Linux and was fascinated with the collaboration and support of the programming community as we all looked to build a better program, together. Technology has continued to drive significant change and the ability to code is a skill set that every student should have.
I am so excited about bringing this program to Suffolk County in a setting that is both educational and fun. As a graduate of Harvard Business School, I have seen firsthand the way technology has impacted the future of all industries from farming to healthcare and I can’t wait to bring this knowledge to our students. Additionally, I have over 10 years of experience working in product development roles at various Fortune 500 companies and start-ups and I am thrilled about sharing this career knowledge with our students.
I’m also passionate about mentoring students on their communication and presentation skills, and I love that this program will not only teach kids how to code, but also how to engage their audiences to effectively communicate their ideas and opinions.
We're always looking for great Code Coaches. Find out more about how to apply today.
