My name is Nisha Bhalla and I am the Senior Advisor of theCoderSchool Bayside. I still remember learning how to code in Linux and was fascinated with the collaboration and support of the programming community as we all looked to build a better program, together. Technology has continued to drive significant change and the ability to code is a skillset that every student should have.
I am so excited about bringing this program to Long Island in a setting that is both educational and fun. As a graduate of Harvard Business School, I have seen firsthand the way technology has impacted the future of all industries from farming to healthcare and I can’t wait to bring this knowledge to our students. Additionally, I have over 10 years of experience working in product development roles at various Fortune 500 companies and start-ups and I am thrilled about sharing this career knowledge with our students.

The UpCode program is a selective internship program in which teams of high school coders build a custom software product based on a client's requirements. Intended for high schoolers with an interest in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related technical field, this program immerses our interns in a simulated software development lifecycle. Each year they solve a new challenge presented by MIT SPACE ENABLED LAB and teams will write code to help NASA’s Astrobee robot navigage in microgravity.
The Coder School team will also head to MIT for ZR Robotics Field Day.
